Job Description
Hematology Oncology Associates of Central New York (HOACNY) is a highly regarded healthcare provider specializing in cancer care services. Recognized as one of Central New York’s Best Places to Work, HOACNY operates with a patient-centered approach, delivering comprehensive hematology and oncology services across multiple locations. The organization prides itself on balancing compassionate care with medical expertise, serving communities in East Syracuse, Syracuse, and Auburn. HOACNY is committed to fostering a supportive work culture that encourages professional growth, collaboration, and the highest standards of patient service.
HOACNY is currently seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist – Patient Navigator to join their dedicated team. This role involves performing key administrative duties to support radiation oncology physicians and clinical team members. The Patient Navigator acts as a vital communication bridge between patients, medical professionals, and the healthcare facility, ensuring smooth coordination of clinical and administrative tasks. What sets this position apart is the potential for travel between offices; the Medical Receptionist will accompany their assigned physician between the Brittonfield and Camillus locations if the physician travels. In cases where the physician remains based at a single office, the Patient Navigator will also work from that location. This dynamic aspect requires adaptability and strong organizational skills.
Compensation for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience, offering additional incentives such as stipends and bonuses. HOACNY backs the position with a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, and life insurance coverage, along with short-term and long-term disability benefits. Financial security is further supported by retirement plans including a 401(k) and pension options. Recognizing the importance of continuing education and personal development, the organization provides tuition reimbursement. Employees also enjoy advanced paid time off, floating holidays, and paid holidays to support work-life balance. Convenient free parking at their locations adds to the ease and accessibility of the role.
Joining HOACNY means becoming part of an organization deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. They are proud to be an equal opportunity employer, ensuring all qualified applicants receive fair consideration regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. Furthermore, HOACNY adheres strictly to fair employment practices with regard to citizenship and immigration status.
This Medical Receptionist – Patient Navigator role is ideal for individuals who are highly motivated, team-oriented, and looking to make a meaningful difference in their career within a specialized medical field. The position demands strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset. Candidates will be entrusted with significant responsibilities that contribute directly to patient care and the efficient functioning of radiation oncology services. Whether stationed at a single office or traveling with a physician as required, this role offers an engaging and vital career opportunity within a well-respected healthcare organization.
