The position of Medical Receptionist - Patient Navigator plays a crucial role within the radiation oncology team at HOACNY. This full-time position requires a highly motivated and team-oriented individual to perform vital administrative duties supporting radiation oncology physicians and other clinical staff members. Importantly, the Medical Receptionist - Patient Navigator is assigned to specific physicians and may travel between HOACNY’s Brittonfield and Camillus offices, depending on the physician’s schedule. Those physicians who travel require the patient navigator to accompany them to maintain seamless patient and clinical support. Conversely, if the assigned physician remains at a single location, the patient navigator will also be stationed there. This dynamic work environment highlights the need for flexibility and adaptability in managing administrative tasks across multiple sites.
This role is essential in ensuring smooth communication and coordination between patients and their clinical teams. The Medical Receptionist - Patient Navigator is responsible for managing a variety of medical office duties, including handling patient records, appointment scheduling, correspondence, and other clerical functions essential to the efficient operation of the oncology practice. Candidates must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of medical office procedures, medical terminology, and medical records management, enabling them to navigate the complex clinical environment effectively. Excellent computer skills and proficiency with standard office equipment such as fax machines, multi-line telephone systems, and copy machines are also essential.
The role requires clear and concise communication skills to interact effectively with patients, clinical staff, and peers, fostering a collaborative and supportive healthcare experience. HOACNY provides a competitive salary reflecting experience, alongside a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, 401k/pension plans, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, advanced paid time off, floating holidays, and convenient free parking.
