Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid Maine CNA certification or willingness to obtain certification through sponsored training
  • ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently
  • fully vaccinated against Influenza and required Public Health vaccines
  • successful completion of two-step TB test upon hire
  • willingness to work full-time 32 hours per week
  • adherence to all federal and state nondiscrimination employment laws

Job Qualifications

  • Maine CNA certification preferred
  • experience working with a senior population preferred
  • warm and friendly demeanor with a positive approach to interacting with seniors and co-workers
  • ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently

  • willingness to learn and utilize dementia communication techniques

Job Duties

  • Perform administrative duties with attention to detail, professionalism, and timely completion
  • foster a warm, home-like environment by considering individual resident needs and desires
  • encourage resident participation in events and activities
  • utilize specialized training to communicate effectively with residents experiencing dementia
  • serve as a warm and friendly companion to residents across all levels of care
  • perform Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) duties
  • maintain a safe and welcoming work environment
