Job Description
Bluegrass Care Navigators (BCN) is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to the elderly population in Kentucky. Specializing in the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), BCN offers services that enable Kentuckians aged 55 and older, who might otherwise require nursing home care, to live safely and comfortably in their homes. Through a collaborative approach, BCN's interdisciplinary PACE team integrates medical care, personal support, social services, and transportation to meet the unique needs of each participant. This innovative model emphasizes holistic care, ensuring participants receive the attention and services necessary to maintain their independence and quality of life.
BCN is committed to fostering a respectful, fair, and supportive work environment where team members are valued for their contributions and encouraged to grow professionally. Joining BCN means becoming part of a dedicated team that makes a meaningful difference in the community by delivering care that honors dignity and compassion. The organization offers a stable, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm schedule at the Bluegrass PACE Center in Lexington, Kentucky. BCN values teamwork and aims to create an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and everyone is treated with respect.
The PACE Center Receptionist plays a pivotal role as the initial point of contact for participants, caregivers, visitors, and staff at the PACE Center. This position supports the efficient daily operations by managing communications, scheduling appointments, maintaining participant records, and providing administrative assistance to the PACE Center Director and the interdisciplinary care team. Excellence in customer service is crucial as the receptionist represents BCN's commitment to quality care and professionalism. The role requires proficiency in various office technologies and tools, alongside strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Candidates must be adept at handling sensitive information with discretion and able to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. Working with healthcare professionals and interacting with elderly participants demands compassion, patience, and the ability to remain calm under emotional stress.
Overall, this position offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of community-focused healthcare, supporting seniors to lead dignified lives while contributing to the mission and values of Bluegrass Care Navigators. As part of the team, employees gain the chance to develop professionally in a role that blends administrative responsibilities with meaningful human interaction in the healthcare sector. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred qualifications including some higher education or business training, previous administrative experience, and relevant certifications such as CPR. Candidates will benefit from working in a dynamic, supportive environment that prioritizes inclusivity and employee well-being, making this a rewarding career choice in the evolving field of elderly care.
