The Adjuster Supervisor role at Novolex in Brookshire, TX, offers the opportunity to be part of a leading manufacturing firm committed to quality and sustainability. This position is integral to the production process, overseeing the efficient operation of machinery and managing a team of machine operators and utility personnel on the third shift (11pm-7am). The role focuses on ensuring that all machines operate smoothly, production schedules are adhered to, and quality standards are consistently met by monitoring hourly samples to detect defects and reduce waste. Starting pay ranges from $22 to $28 per hour, reflecting the importance and responsibility of this supervisory role.
Key duties include assigning employees to production lines, assisting with machine changeovers, overseeing equipment maintenance, and enforcing safety protocols. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2-5 years machine operator experience
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals
- effective communication skills
- basic math skills
- good eyesight with no colorblindness
- ability to write clearly and concisely
- strong time management and organizational skills
- self-managing and able to work independently
Job Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2-5 years machine operator experience
- effective listening, speaking and writing skills in person and on the phone
- ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and quality instructions, and procedural manuals
- ability to complete routine reports and records
- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- ability to write clearly and concisely using good grammar and professional style
- strong organization and time management skills
- good eyesight with no colorblindness to spot flaws in color comparison and print set-up
Job Duties
- serve as first line supervisor for machine operators and utility persons
- assign employees to production lines and ensure all machines run on schedule and at production speed
- monitor bags being run, taking hourly samples to inspect quality and reduce waste
- assist in machine changeovers and order changes, ensuring timely completion
- clean and repair machines as needed
- enforce safety procedures and ensure employees follow safety protocols such as PPE and equipment guards
- submit accurate and timely daily production reports
- schedule employee breaks and relief
- evaluate employee performance, administer counseling and disciplinary actions, and develop improvement plans
- train new employees or assign training responsibilities
- ensure workers have necessary materials
- maintain cleanliness of work areas
- refer employee complaints or grievances to Human Resources
- adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Practices
- perform other duties as assigned including food safety tasks
