Job Requirements
- Associate degree in culinary arts or pastry arts or a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- ACF certification at chef level within 3 years after hire
- training and teaching experience
- experience in beginning baking, hotel and restaurant desserts, professional cake decorating, advanced baking and pastry
- five years of recent industry experience

Job Duties
- Uphold the best scholarly and ethical standards of his or her discipline
- engage in professional development activities to identify and implement effective teaching strategies
- foster honest academic conduct and ensure evaluations reflect student performance
- demonstrate respect for students and maintain a respectful atmosphere
- treat all students with fairness and without discrimination
- demonstrate mastery of course material and prepare all teaching materials before class
- teach courses in accordance with the course master and departmental policies
- make himself or herself available for student consultations to promote success
- meet all scheduled classes and grade work promptly
- maintain student attendance and grade records and submit reports timely
- develop and distribute effective course syllabi following college policies
- be informed of and recommend college support services to students
- behave professionally with students and staff
- notify dean or associate dean promptly if unable to attend class
- perform assessment of student learning and report results
- evaluate production processes and quality of final products
- decipher complex plans and instructions for troubleshooting
- record testing methods, issues, and specifications
- attend workshops and training sessions to improve field expertise
- supervise and monitor students using tools and equipment
- observe and evaluate student work, providing feedback
- determine training needs of students
- administer oral, written, or performance tests
- prepare reports and maintain training records
- conduct on-the-job training sessions
- integrate academic and vocational curricula
- develop curricula and course content
- create teaching aids
- participate in conferences and seminars
- perform other duties as assigned
