Next Step Healthcare is seeking a full-time Activity Director to join our team at Wedgemere Healthcare. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by leading and managing the activity department. The Activity Director serves as a key figure in promoting positive morale within the facility and collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to meet residents' diverse needs. Reporting directly to the Administrator, the ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with nursing home residents and possess the creativity and energy necessary to design and implement engaging activity programs.

The Activity Director's responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing an array of activities that cater to the social, psychosocial, spiritual, and therapeutic needs of residents. Duties encompass providing entertainment, facilitating exercise and relaxation sessions, and creating opportunities for residents to express their creative talents. In addition, the role involves conducting Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, managing staff scheduling, and participating in the hiring process. This position requires a strong leader who can inspire their team and foster an environment of positivity and inclusivity throughout the facility.

This is a full-time position ideal for a compassionate, motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment focused on enhancing residents' lives. The successful candidate will have at least one year of long-term care experience and an energetic approach to developing innovative programs that meet the evolving needs of the residents.
