The Activity Coordinator role at Ivy Park at Rockville specifically focuses on supporting the Traditions Memory Care program. This position plays a crucial part in organizing, scheduling, promoting, facilitating, and directing activities and excursions designed to enrich the lives of residents living with memory challenges. The aim is to enhance each resident's independence and overall well-being through engaging social atmospheres and stimulating events. The Activity Coordinator works closely with the Memory Care Director to create a dynamic and rewarding experience within a secured memory care environment, promoting participation through a diverse array of activities such as excursions, guest speakers, exercise sessions, clubs, creative arts, games, educational classes, and special events. This includes the operation of community vehicles to facilitate excursions and transports when necessary. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors
  • requires current Class C driver license, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents
  • able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs
  • ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and team members
  • must maintain a safe and secure environment following established safety standards
  • willing to follow health and safety protocols including vaccination and use of PPE according to regulatory guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • for the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines

Job Duties

  • Assist the Memory Care Director in providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the secured Traditions area
  • promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities
  • communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors
  • maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards
  • able to drive community vehicles
  • encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments
