Job Description
The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is an award-winning luxury resort located in the scenic coastal town of Dana Point, California, adjacent to the iconic Laguna Beach. This resort is a distinguished property featuring prestigious Forbes 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond ratings, showcasing its excellence in service, accommodations, and amenities. Nestled on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff, the resort boasts over 400 rooms and expansive 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. It offers a variety of dining options, including four restaurants, a beach club, a lounge, a marketplace, and in-room dining services. The resort is renowned not only for its scenic location and luxury facilities but also for its vibrant culture of hospitality and commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences.
The role of Activities Supervisor at Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is a dynamic and pivotal position that goes beyond managing recreation operations. This role requires a passionate individual who is dedicated to spreading hospitality’s warmth by delivering memorable and engaging experiences for every guest. As an Activities Supervisor, you will oversee the daily recreation operations that include poolside services, fitness center activities, food and beverage coordination, and branded programming tailored to enhance the guests’ stay. You will lead and inspire a recreation team by providing comprehensive training, scheduling, and supervision, ensuring all team members work cohesively to achieve excellence in service delivery.
This supervisory position demands strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and a forward-thinking mindset. You will be responsible for managing logistical aspects such as the setup of chairs, cabanas, towel service, personalized poolside amenities, and furniture arrangements for special events. Ensuring regulatory compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards is crucial, as is maintaining high inventory standards of linens, amenities, and food and beverage supplies to minimize loss and maximize operational efficiency.
Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 2-4 years of customer service experience in high-end fitness or luxury spa environments, with current certifications in fitness, Pilates, or yoga seen as a strong asset. The ability to communicate effectively, both with guests and team members, and maintain a professional and approachable demeanor is essential. Computer literacy, especially familiarity with Spa Operations Software and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, is necessary to support the role’s administrative functions.
Joining the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club means becoming part of a globally recognized hospitality brand under Hilton. This affords numerous growth, learning, and career advancement opportunities in the luxury hospitality sector. The company’s core values emphasize integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service now, with an urgency and discipline that make lasting impacts. Benefits of working here include unmatched travel perks, employee stock purchase plans, paid parental leave, caregiving support, mental health resources, generous paid time off, and comprehensive health and welfare benefits.
The resort prides itself not only on its world-class amenities and guest experiences but also on its award-winning workplace culture, recognized repeatedly on the World’s Best Workplaces list by Great Place to Work and Fortune.
