Job Description
King County Parks Division, part of the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks (DNRP), is dedicated to providing residents with excellent recreational opportunities while stewarding and enhancing natural spaces to promote healthy, vibrant communities. Marymoor Park, located in the heart of King County, is one of the region's most popular and visited parks, welcoming millions of visitors every year. The park offers a diverse range of recreational amenities, including athletic fields, special event facilities, community programs, and spaces for facility rentals. The Recreation, Partnerships, and Property Management Section is responsible for the oversight and coordination of facility reservations, event scheduling, community partnerships, and visitor services across King County Parks.
This dynamic and innovative team is committed to delivering outstanding customer service in one of the busiest and most diverse park environments in the region. King County prioritizes equity, racial and social justice as foundational values that guide all aspects of work, striving to create an inclusive environment where all employees and visitors feel welcome and respected. This commitment is deeply embedded in the culture and daily expectations for every role, including the position of Activities Scheduling Coordinator.
As an Activities Scheduling Coordinator at Marymoor Park, you will be the key liaison for athletic field and facility reservations, managing a wide spectrum of customer interactions alongside facility scheduling and operational coordination. Your main responsibility will be to assist leagues, community organizations, and individual visitors in securing spaces for recreational activities. This involves handling scheduling requests efficiently through phone, email, and in-person communication, utilizing reservation systems such as ActiveNet to process agreements, payments, and permits. In addition, you will work closely with the Event Coordinator to ensure the proper scheduling of facilities during multi-use event days, maintaining seamless operations and accessibility for all user groups.
The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to resolve scheduling conflicts, assuming a pivotal role in fostering positive relationships across a broad range of park users and stakeholders. You will also take on responsibilities managing customer accounts, including payment collections and account status updates, and act as a venue supervisor during large-scale events, ensuring safe and successful operations.
This position operates under a hybrid work model, combining remote work flexibility with in-person responsibilities at Marymoor Park's primary onsite location in Redmond, Washington. The full-time position requires a 40-hour work week and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team that is redefining public service delivery. Benefits include comprehensive training, growth opportunities, and inclusive workplace culture. King County values diversity and encourages applications from people of all backgrounds, fostering an equitable and supportive work environment where everyone can thrive.
