The role of Activities Coordinator within the Assisted Living department is a pivotal one, tasked with enhancing the quality of life for residents through thoughtfully planned and executed programs and activities. This part-time or full-time position offers a starting wage of $17 per hour, dependent on experience, and requires a blend of creativity, organizational skills, and interpersonal warmth. The Activities Coordinator works closely with residents to deliver programs that address a broad spectrum of needs and interests, promoting social interaction, cognitive stimulation, emotional upliftment, as well as spiritual growth. This position fosters a vibrant community atmosphere by organizing daily events, special celebrations, and outings that resonate with the residents' preferences and abilities.
In this role, the Activities Coordinator designs and oversees a wide range of activities including physical exercises, intellectual challenges, social gatherings, and spiritual events tailored to motivating participation and enhancing residents’ overall happiness. The Coordinator also plays a significant role in transportation and supervision during resident outings, ensuring safety while fostering enjoyable experiences beyond the facility. In addition to program planning and execution, the Activities Coordinator contributes to marketing efforts by assisting with community outreach and the distribution of informational newsletters. This position requires a proactive individual who can collaborate effectively with management and care staff to meet the evolving needs of Assisted Living residents and uphold the Center's mission of compassionate care.

Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in a senior care environment
- Minimum of two years unencumbered driving record preferred
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Kansas preferred
- CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Current, unrestricted Kansas state driver’s license
- Ability to promote enthusiasm for programs and encourage resident participation
- Ability to design events that meet the interests of residents
- Ability to assist in marketing and newsletter development
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Job Qualifications

- Strong collaborative, interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and ministry leadership
- Detail oriented and able to work independently
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Job Duties
- Conducts activity programs providing physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities and challenges for residents/participants
- Develops and/or implements plan of care in relation to activities as appropriate to the level of living
- Provides transportation and supervision for trips and outside activities
- Plans and implements programs for special events, celebrations and holidays
- Promotes enthusiasm for programs and encourages residents to attend and participate
- Designs events that meet the interests of the residents
- Participates and assists in marketing the community to prospective residents
- Assists in the development and distribution of newsletters
- Other duties as assigned
