Job Description

Passages Malibu is the world's leading rehabilitation center, recognized as the number one rehab in the world by Healthcare Global. This exclusive facility offers a holistic, non-12 step program for drug and alcohol addiction, making it a unique place that focuses on treating addiction through personalized and comprehensive approaches rather than traditional methods. Passages Malibu is dedicated to helping individuals achieve recovery through a variety of supportive therapies and programs designed to heal the mind, body, and spirit. The center has a proven track record of successfully assisting thousands of people struggling with substance dependence, making it a trusted name in addiction recovery.

Joining Passages as a Full Time Activities Coordinator means becoming part of a compassionate and passionate team that values well-rounded, meaningful engagement for its residents. The Activities Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing resident recovery by developing and leading a wide array of programs tailored to the diverse needs and interests of those undergoing treatment. This role involves the planning, scheduling, coordination, and implementation of both indoor and outdoor activities, including social outings and therapeutic recreational events. The goal is to create an enriching environment that supports residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being by encouraging active participation in various programs.

As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for engaging residents through activities that foster a sense of community and normalcy, which is essential for sustaining recovery. Activities must be carefully designed to accommodate a wide range of abilities and preferences, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all participants. The position requires leading activities personally and sometimes transporting clients to offsite locations such as shopping trips or special events. This role is safety-sensitive, demanding a high level of responsibility and adherence to facility rules and regulations to maintain a secure and supportive environment.

Passages Malibu offers not only the opportunity to work in a world-renowned rehabilitation center but also a robust benefits package that includes student loan repayment assistance—an attractive perk for those looking to advance their career in addiction recovery fields. The role is based in Malibu, California, requiring in-person attendance and offering a dynamic work schedule that includes flexible hours to meet the 24/7 nature of the facility. This includes working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, emphasizing the organization's commitment to constant care and support for its residents.

Overall, this position is ideal for someone passionate about helping others recover from addiction through innovative and engaging activity programming. Candidates who thrive in a supportive, patient-oriented environment with a dedication to safety and healing will find this role particularly fulfilling. The Activities Coordinator at Passages Malibu not only plans and manages activities but also contributes significantly to the holistic recovery process by enriching residents' daily lives and promoting positive interactions and growth.
