The role of Activities Coordinator at MENTOR Adult Day Health is a full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift position with a competitive hourly wage of $17.00. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of elders with developmental disabilities or seniors with complex needs. The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for planning and leading group and individual recreational activities that foster engagement, socialization, and cognitive stimulation tailored to each person’s interests and abilities. The work environment boasts a balanced schedule with no evenings, weekends, or on-call duties, offering a healthy work-life balance.
In this role, the Activities Coordinator collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team to develop person-centered programming that appeals to the diverse needs of the program participants. The coordinator will also provide guidance and support to other staff members to ensure activities are delivered effectively and safely, always prioritizing the well-being of those served. Maintaining age-appropriate curriculum binders and organizing engaging activities are essential to sustaining the quality and consistency of the program.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Activity Coordinator certification preferred. At least two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is required, along with strong organizational and communication skills. Additional prerequisites include a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and bilingual proficiency in Spanish, reflecting the diverse community served.
