The role of Activities Assistant at Centra Behavioral Health Hospital is a full-time position primarily scheduled during day shifts, including one to two weekends per month. This role plays an essential part in the patient care team, supporting the Activity Therapist or Activity Therapy Coordinator by assisting in the design and delivery of medically approved activity programs. These programs include holiday and special event celebrations, social activities, relaxation techniques, music-based interventions, leisure educational games, and expressive arts. The goal of these activities is to help patients build interpersonal relationships, boost motivation, enhance social skills, and develop the confidence necessary to participate actively in group therapy and social settings.

The Activities Assistant works under the guidance and supervision of the Activity Therapist or Activity Therapy Coordinator to ensure that the content of activity programs is aligned with each patient's capabilities, needs, interests, and treatment plans. This cooperation ensures that every patient receives personalized and therapeutic engagement, which is crucial in mental health rehabilitation and overall well-being.
