We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating a variety of activities tailored to the interests and capabilities of our diverse resident population. This includes seniors who are newly retired and enjoy an active lifestyle, those who require physical assistance, and individuals in various stages of memory loss.
The Activity Assistant supports our commitment to creating a healthy community culture where residents can thrive socially and emotionally. This position involves working closely with the Activities Manager and supporting a wide range of programs under our Life Enrichment initiatives such as Lifestyles and Health Services, Embrace the World, Ambassador, and the Heartfelt Connections Memory Care Program. You will play a key role in leading daily resident activities, organizing special events, and promoting wellness through education and engagement.
This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $15 and 32 hours per week, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about senior care and hospitality. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with senior adults
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead group activities and events
- Basic computer skills for scheduling and calendar preparation
- Ability to pass background check as required by AHCA
- Reliable and compassionate nature
Job Qualifications
- Past work with seniors is a must and preferably in a skilled nursing facility
- Activities experience is preferred but not required
- Certified Nursing Assistant experience is preferred
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of screening level II background process through AHCA
Job Duties
- Assist the activities manager with planning, scheduling, and coordinating all resident activities including special events following the Life Enrichment programs
- Promote a healthy community culture for all residents and employees
- Provide individual and group educational opportunities for residents and staff in disease prevention and management as part of the Wellness Program
- Lead daily resident activities per community standards
- Assist with preparing and distributing monthly calendars according to community standards
- Assist in planning and executing diverse and engaging programs to meet the needs of a varied resident population including those with physical assistance needs and memory loss
