Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- experience in geriatrics, recreation, or social administration preferred
- experience with dementia care preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and pushing
- ability to operate telephone, computer, and other office equipment
- ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with residents
- willingness to receive annual influenza vaccination and TB skin test unless exempt
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- experience in geriatrics, recreation, or social administration
- experience with dementia care preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
- competency in documentation and record keeping
Job Duties
- Assist Life Enhancement Mentor with organizing activities
- complete monthly calendars and provide input for newsletters
- set up and break down activities
- promote opportunities for recreation, social interaction, and personal growth
- conduct wellness programming through exercise and social events
- place seasonal and special decorations
- perform one-on-one interactions and in-room visits
- ensure activities comply with federal and state regulations
- participate in event root cause analysis
- complete required documentation for psychosocial well-being and activity needs
- honor resident rights and responsibilities
- communicate with nursing and therapy staff regarding resident participation and behavior changes
- maintain professional records and file documentation
- complete clinical chart documentation
- provide programming to maintain daily living functions
- facilitate individualized plans of care
- attend resident care planning meetings
- participate in nutrition care planning
- document functional maintenance
- transport residents as needed
- act as liaison among departments
- perform additional duties as assigned
