As a respected corporate citizen in the region, Davis emphasizes a culture of respect, care, dignity, and personalized attention for every resident, ensuring that each individual's unique needs and preferences are honored.

At The Davis Community, the organizational culture is deeply rooted in respect and service, creating an environment where employees, residents, and guests feel valued and cared for. The Davis Community also prioritizes work-life balance and professional growth, making it a rewarding place to build a career. All employees are required to receive an annual influenza vaccination and TB skin test unless medically exempt, underscoring the community's commitment to health and safety.

The role of the Activity Assistant at The Davis Community is integral to enhancing the quality of life for residents. Working closely with the Life Enhancement Mentor, the Activity Assistant helps plan, organize, and execute a variety of resident activities designed to promote social interaction, wellness, recreation, and cognitive engagement. This position supports residents through person-centered care plans, which address the physical, emotional, and social aspects of well-being. The Activity Assistant creates meaningful and enjoyable opportunities for residents, including organized exercises, social events, special holiday decorations, and one-on-one interactions.

Responsibilities include assisting in the development of monthly activity calendars and newsletters, ensuring all activities comply with federal and state regulations, and coordinating efforts with interdisciplinary teams such as nursing, therapy, and dietary staff. The Activity Assistant also participates in documentation for psychosocial needs, care planning meetings, and communicates changes in residents' behavior or health to appropriate team members. They play a key role in facilitating individualized plans of care to maintain residents' functional capabilities through exercise and daily living activities. Additionally, transporting residents to and from activities and serving as a liaison among departments are important aspects of this role.

Physical demands of the role include standing, stooping, kneeling, lifting objects up to 40 pounds, and pushing equipment such as wheelchairs and carts. The work environment may include exposure to noise, varied weather conditions, and occasional encounters with residents exhibiting challenging behaviors. Proficiency with basic office and communication equipment is necessary, as well as effective communication skills with a diverse population including geriatrics. The Davis Community seeks compassionate, dependable team members who are committed to providing outstanding care and enriching the lives of its residents.
