Job Description

A Catered Experience (ACE) is a renowned catering and culinary service company based in Hawaii, specialized in delivering exceptional dining experiences for a variety of events including banquets, corporate functions, and private parties. The ACE Cook position is a vital role within the kitchen brigade reporting directly to the ACE Executive Chef. This non-exempt position is responsible for the accurate preparation and cooking of all food products, ensuring a consistently high-quality product that aligns with the company’s esteemed culinary reputation. The ACE Cook aids in managing daily kitchen operations, including maintaining cleanliness and verifying that all kitchen equipment is operational and correctly stored. This role demands strong teamwork and communication skills to support the Chef in inventory management, food preparation for large-scale events, and the packing and wrapping of cooked items with proper labeling for various events. A background in culinary experience or education is essential for success, along with the flexibility to work varying shifts depending on assignments or catering needs. Candidates must demonstrate physical stamina to work in extreme temperature environments and should be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds. The position requires initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure while maintaining a professional and collaborative attitude. Job Requirements

  • must be able to work flexible shifts according to the needs of the assignments and/or catering or banquet functions
  • must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • reaching/bending frequently
  • good speech and hearing necessary for communicating with other employees, managers, and the public
  • action-oriented (exercising initiative to follow-up and follow through)
  • detail-oriented
  • reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the english language required
  • must pass drug screening test and physical exam
  • must have passed a tb test within 5 years of start date with skin test or chest x-ray
  • must have valid current hawaii state driver's license and clean driver’s abstract

Job Qualifications

  • prior culinary experience and/or education required
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • good interpersonal skills
  • ability to interact on a professional level with clients
  • ability to problem solve
  • ability to supervise others in a positive and professional manner
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • prepares for the day by gathering all items necessary for cooking food products in large quantities
  • cooks menu items in accordance with prescribed recipes
  • assists chef to maintain inventory for goods in chill, freezer and dry/canned goods on a weekly basis
  • assists with packing and wrapping of cooked items for each event with proper color codes
  • assists with maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen on a daily basis
  • puts all equipment away in their proper place
  • performs other duties as assigned
