Renowned for its exquisite waterfront accommodations and exceptional amenities, Aruna Resort & Villas offers a unique blend of upscale comfort and authentic Belizean hospitality. The resort is situated just west of San Pedro, a sought-after destination that attracts visitors seeking tranquility, adventure, and a rich cultural experience in the Caribbean. With a focus on delivering personalized guest experiences, Aruna Resort & Villas stands out as one of Belize's premier hospitality establishments, making it an attractive workplace for professionals passionate about excellence in the tourism and hospitality industry.
The Accounting Manager role at Aruna Resort & Villas is a full-time, permanent position based on-site at the resort’s location on Ambergris Caye. This position reports directly to the General Manager and is vital to maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of the resort. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and compliance activities. Additionally, this role involves overseeing owner accounting and homeowners association (HOA) administration, ensuring transparency and accuracy in handling owner and HOA financial matters. The Accounting Manager plays a critical leadership role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis and operational insights.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, luxury hospitality environment that is currently growing and expanding its impact in Belize’s high-end tourism market. The Accounting Manager will be expected to lead the accounting team with a strong focus on maintaining robust internal controls, enhancing financial reporting standards, and ensuring full regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, coordinating audits and tax reporting, and supporting cost-control initiatives throughout the property.
Furthermore, the Accounting Manager will act as a financial liaison for property owners by preparing and distributing regular owner statements and maintaining detailed accounting records related to owner revenues, expenses, commissions, and distributions. This role also requires close collaboration with departmental leaders across the resort to promote financial accountability and operational efficiency. It is ideal for a detail-oriented financial professional with a background in hotel accounting and a passion for operational excellence, seeking a leadership opportunity to influence business growth and success in a vibrant, Caribbean setting.
Candidates must be fully authorized to work in Belize and must be willing to work varying schedules in alignment with the property's business requirements. Aruna Resort & Villas values individuals who demonstrate a high work ethic, self-initiation, and the ability to multitask under strict deadlines, all while providing outstanding service and contributing to a positive team environment. Physical aspects of the role include working primarily in an office setting, with prolonged computer use and some light physical activities such as lifting and moving moderate weights relevant to office supplies. The resort offers a supportive environment that accommodates individuals with disabilities to perform their essential job functions effectively.
Overall, this opening is a fantastic career option for accomplished accounting professionals eager to make a significant impact within a luxury hospitality context while enjoying the unparalleled lifestyle of Belize’s beautiful Ambergris Caye. Joining Aruna Resort & Villas means contributing to a premier resort destination’s financial integrity and operational success while growing professionally in a rewarding and culturally enriching atmosphere.
