Hotel Marcel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a renowned hospitality establishment celebrated for being the first net-zero energy hotel in the United States. Situated in the historic mid-century modern Armstrong Rubber Company Building, also known as the Pirelli Building, it was originally designed by Marcel Breuer in 1967. The hotel stands as a hallmark of sustainable design with its LEED Platinum certification and Passive House certification – both leading achievements in environmental responsibility. Its rooftop solar power and parking canopy arrays collectively provide 100% of the electricity needed for lighting, heating, and cooling, making this property an innovator in sustainable travel and energy efficiency.

Hotel Marcel offers 165 guest rooms blended with a boutique ambiance characteristic of the Tapestry Collection brand, which merges local experiences with modern design and intimate service. Alongside its guest accommodations, the hotel boasts a full-service restaurant and approximately 7,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, accommodating both leisure and business travelers. The ethos of Hotel Marcel extends beyond hospitality to actively fostering a culture of sustainability, innovation, and superior guest experiences.

The Accounting Manager role at Hotel Marcel is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing comprehensive accounting operations includinghotel-wide accounting processes, food and beverage accounting, and payroll administration. This includes management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, daily financial reporting, income audit, employee onboarding, and general cashiering functions. The Accounting Manager will operate in alignment with hotel and brand standards, ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.

This position demands a strategic leader with a strong background in hospitality accounting and finance, skilled in financial reporting, budget preparation, and risk management. The Accounting Manager will play a significant role in crafting and implementing best practices to enhance financial operations and internal controls, as well as fostering a collaborative and welcoming environment among team members. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • 3 years' experience in hospitality or food and beverage preferred
  • Familiarity with all local and state laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications is required
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent service and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • 3 years' experience in hospitality or food and beverage preferred
  • Previous experience and knowledge of StayNTouch Software, Digital Dining, and M3 Hospitality Accounting a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications is required
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Operate in accordance within Hotel and Brand standards
  • Attend all management training as requested by the General Manager and the Corporate office
  • Assist in creating and implementing best practices and procedures for the property regarding accounting
  • Ability to create, develop and make formal presentations using audio/visual aids
  • Assist in fostering and maintaining a friendly and welcoming culture amongst colleagues
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of operations and how they coincide with accounting operations
  • Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action
