This prestigious hotel operates as a prominent part of the hospitality sector, offering exceptional services and facilities to guests while maintaining high standards of operational and financial management. As a key player in the hotel industry, the establishment prides itself on delivering outstanding guest experiences combined with rigorous management of its financial and operational functions. The hotel focuses on delivering quality accommodation, dining, event hosting, and recreational amenities, all managed through a dedicated and professional team. This environment demands precise financial oversight to ensure sustainable business growth and the delivery of exceptional service quality.
The role of Financial Reporting Manager is positioned within the Accounting team, acting as a cornerstone of the hotel's financial reporting function. This full-time leadership position provides a comprehensive financial management responsibility including but not limited to month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger reconciliations, and the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements. The Financial Reporting Manager collaborates closely with executive management including the Financial Controller and operational leaders to guarantee that financial information is accurate and supportive of strategic decisions.
In this role, the incumbent will oversee the integrity of all general ledger accounts and ensure that all financial activities comply with established accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. The manager plays an essential role in strengthening internal controls to mitigate risks and safeguard hotel assets efficiently. Leading audit coordination is a critical aspect where the manager acts as the primary liaison for internal and external audits, delivering schedules, analyses, and supporting documentation promptly.
The Financial Reporting Manager also supports budgeting and financial forecasting, working alongside the Financial Controller to prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Analysis of financial variances and monitoring key balance sheet accounts such as inventory are within the manager’s duties to validate data accuracy to support the hotel's fiscal health.
Furthermore, the role involves team leadership responsibilities where fostering a positive, high-performing culture within the accounting division is vital. The manager ensures the accuracy and quality of work produced by accounting staff, provides guidance, monitors progress, and contributes to the recruitment, training, and development of staff. Succession planning and continuous improvement initiatives form part of the management approach, enhancing operational efficiency and employee engagement.
The position also entails ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards such as GAAP and J-SOX. Process improvement initiatives are encouraged, including streamlining accounting system workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency while enhancing user experiences within the finance function.
Collaboration with IT and other departments is necessary for the implementation and maintenance of accounting-related systems, including troubleshooting and integration monitoring. The manager is responsible for creating standard operating procedures and training materials to support system adoption and ensure data integrity and security.
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, with at least five years of progressive accounting and financial management experience. Advanced qualifications like a CPA or MBA are preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, leadership capabilities, effective communication proficiency, and expertise in financial systems and operational processes.
Overall, this Financial Reporting Manager position offers a challenging and rewarding career opportunity within a dynamic hotel environment, balancing operational excellence and financial rigor to support the hotel’s continued success and growth.
