The Account Manager role at Unbridled is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual with long-term career aspirations in pharmaceutical congress, medical meeting, and event management. This full-time position is focused on nurturing and expanding business within pharmaceutical client accounts domestically and internationally. The successful candidate will be equipped to consult strategically with pharmaceutical clients to promote Unbridled’s expert services, ensuring growth and increased brand exposure. The role requires a strong understanding of the lifecycle of commercial meetings on a global scale including healthcare professional (HCP) and customer engagement meetings, congresses, satellite symposia, and exhibitions.

This role demands an experienced, motivated, and dedicated team player who can manage account teams effectively and deliver high-quality outcomes on complex projects. The Account Manager will be responsible for developing strategic global client relationships, maintaining healthy client accounts, ensuring team accountability, managing financial responsibilities such as budgeting and forecasting, and overseeing on-site operations including staff management at large-scale congress events. Proficiency in regulatory compliance, understanding of healthcare codes such as HCP, EFPIA, and pharma regulations, as well as the ability to navigate and negotiate hotel contracts in this regulated environment, are critical.

An ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience in domestic and international meeting or event planning with a focus on pharmaceutical congress management. Experience in managing a high volume of accounts with varying lead times, expertise in using event management software like Cvent, and strong communication skills for client interaction at all organizational levels are essential. The candidate should also be highly skilled in budget creation, cost savings tracking, vendor management, attendee registration, rooming list, and transportation management. Furthermore, the Account Manager will actively contribute to the renewal process and ensure comprehensive reporting on congress activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years event or meeting planning experience with pharma clients
  • Experience managing domestic and international pharmaceutical congresses
  • Proficiency in event management software Cvent
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage teams and multi-faceted projects
  • Strong budget management and financial forecasting skills
  • Understanding of pharma regulatory and compliance standards
  • Ability to travel 1-2 weeks per month

Job Qualifications

  • 7+ years domestic and international meeting or event planning experience
  • Experience managing pharma congresses and consulting clients on strategic congress planning
  • Strong understanding of US and international congresses, satellite symposia, and exhibitions
  • Experience with on-site operations and staff management at large-scale congress events
  • Knowledge of hotel spend caps, regulatory codes, HCP, EFPIA, and pharma codes
  • Understanding of regulatory sign off within healthcare companies
  • Familiarity with HCP reporting and reimbursements
  • Knowledge of drug development lifecycle and congress strategy alignment
  • Experience managing high-volume accounts with various lead times
  • Proficiency in hotel contract negotiation and sourcing through Cvent
  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office and Cvent
  • Strong business communication skills
  • Ability to manage and delegate within teams
  • Willingness to travel 1-2 weeks per month

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain strategic global client relationships with pharma congress stakeholders while delivering high quality
  • Ensure health of client accounts
  • Develop account standards and processes while holding team accountability
  • Maintain and grow account business and actively participate in renewal process
  • Ensure quality performance of project teams assigned to specific projects
  • Communication with clients at all levels of organizations, written and conversational
  • Financial responsibilities including ensure budget accuracy and integrity, create program budgets, participate in program reconciliation, develop and maintain fiscal forecasts, understand MSAs and SOWs
  • Oversee online registration process and website development
  • Actively work in Cvent to drive forward planning strategy
  • Delegate tasks such as rooming list management while maintaining quality standards
  • Ensure program resume is created and accurate
  • On-site staffing management, maintaining standards of service and image
  • End of year reporting including summary of congresses booked, destinations, attendees, costs, and cost savings
  • Embody the Unbridled brand and culture including character, change, credibility, and community
