The Account Manager is responsible for developing sanitation plans and programs, assessing operational processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and identifying opportunities to implement efficiencies. This role acts as a trusted business partner to customers, building strong relationships and delivering value through both product knowledge and consultative service. The position requires a proactive approach, independent work style, and the ability to navigate varying customer needs in a fast-paced and highly regulated industry.
Candidates will be expected to work closely with food, beverage, and dairy manufacturing customers primarily within a 50-mile radius of Portland, Oregon. This includes understanding plant operations, government regulations, and the products and equipment Ecolab offers. The role offers a flexible schedule with the autonomy to plan your own workday, supported by best-in-class resources, technologies, and training. A company vehicle for business and personal use is included, reflecting the mobility required in this customer-facing position.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of experience in food, beverage or dairy processing/manufacturing environment or 2 years of selling into manufacturing environments in technical sales
- Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
- Willingness and ability to work varying hours including average of 1-3 overnights per week
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout a geographic territory
- No immigration sponsorship available for this opportunity

- 2 years of experience in food, beverage or dairy processing/manufacturing environment or 2 years of selling into manufacturing environments in technical sales
- Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
- Willingness and ability to work varying hours including average of 1-3 overnights per week
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout a geographic territory
- BS/BA degree in dairy, food or agricultural science, engineering, chemistry, biology or related field preferred
- General mechanical ability preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills preferred
- Desire to succeed in a competitive environment preferred
- Ability to take initiative and work independently preferred
- Strong follow-through and organizational skills preferred
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities preferred
Job Duties
- Build a solid understanding of Ecolab products, plant operations, customer business objectives, and applicable government regulations
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations on Ecolab's innovative products, equipment and services
- Provide industry expertise to customers in sanitation, safety, quality and operations including assisting with sanitation plans and programs, standard operating procedures, evaluating processes and procedures, identifying and implementing operational efficiencies, and employee training
- Develop strategic work plans for completing sales and service/consultation calls with new and existing customers
- Communicate effectively with all levels of plant staff and build strong business relationships and networks
- Manage Ecolab products and equipment including participation in equipment installations, observing and testing equipment and product performance, repairing or adjusting equipment, adjusting chemical concentration levels, monitoring product inventory and placing orders
