This specific role is designed for a motivated sales professional who will own assigned customer relationships and drive sales growth, item and category penetration, and profitability within those accounts. This Sales Account Executive position requires extensive fieldwork across the Jamestown, Wellsville, Olean, Danville, Rochester, Buffalo, and Finger Lakes areas, working primarily four days per week in the field and one Monday per week in the Buffalo office. The candidate will coordinate and lead the efforts of the Customer Service Representative and Account Coordinator to deliver optimal account service and ensure alignment with contractual agreements. The role involves managing a broad range of customer interactions including presenting new products and ideas, maintaining business relationships, overseeing product mix, and driving compliance with contracts.

The role requires travel, business insights, and a strategic approach to account management in the food service industry, particularly in hotels, healthcare, colleges and universities, and senior living sectors. Communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities are key to success in this role, as is a strong understanding of the market and customer needs.

This position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $63,000 to $100,000 depending on experience, education, and geographic location. Additionally, the role is eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus. US Foods provides a robust benefits package that includes health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance. This is a full-time position where the candidate is expected to actively participate in sales meetings, training sessions, food shows, and conferences to stay informed about industry trends and company initiatives.

Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent; however, a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing is preferred. The ideal candidate has three or more years of sales or distribution experience within the foodservice industry or a related field, with additional experience in restaurant operations being a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, along with excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to use research data for strategic decisions, will be essential for this role.
