Founded in 1990 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with just one truck, Aspen Waste Systems has evolved into the leading independent waste hauler in metropolitan areas including Minneapolis/St. Paul/Rochester, MN, Des Moines, IA, and St. Louis, MO. The Denver sales team will play a pivotal role in establishing Aspen’s brand presence in this new market. Account Executives will focus on developing new business relationships and managing existing accounts by promoting Aspen's competitive advantages and comprehensive service offerings targeted at commercial clients. This is a full-time, commission-based sales position with an attractive earning potential that combines a base salary with an uncapped commission and bonus program.
The role of Account Executive at Aspen Waste Systems centers on business-to-business sales, requiring professionals who are motivated, resourceful, and skilled at building and maintaining professional relationships in the commercial waste disposal and recycling industry. The position offers realistic first-year earning potential between $100,000 to $150,000, made up of a base salary in the range of $48,000 to $55,000 plus commissions and bonuses. More seasoned performers can earn significantly more, thanks to Aspen’s stable and generous uncapped commission structure which has remained consistent throughout the company's history. Additionally, the position qualifies for an auto allowance.

Account Executives report directly to the Sales Manager and have frequent interactions with the company’s senior management. They will be responsible for understanding the local Denver market dynamics, forging strong networks, and helping customers navigate waste services that align with their business needs. The role requires superior interpersonal communication skills, persistence, resilience, and the ability to work independently while balancing multiple priorities.

Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Job Qualifications
- Possess strong motivation, a knack for opening doors, and the ability to build professional relationships in order to convert contacts to customers
- Must have exemplary customer service skills and effective problem-solving skills
- Must have the desire and ability to understand and articulate Aspen Waste Systems' competitive advantages in order to secure new and maintain existing customers
- A desire to learn the industry
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and superior time management skills
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within customer organizations, including executive management, to conduct sales presentations, and provide customer support
- Be familiar with the Denver marketplace and have existing relationships in the area or the ability to quickly form a network of contacts in the assigned territory
- Demonstrate persistence and resilience when promoting and selling Aspen's services
- Ability to work independently and plan and prioritize work
- Ability to communicate with a variety of levels and personalities within an organization
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Business to business outside sales experience preferred, but not required
Job Duties
- Develop new business by identifying prospective customers, developing relationships, and working with potential customers to provide a service solution to meet their needs
- Maintain current customer base once established by providing a high level of customer service, providing follow-up and support regarding existing service
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the industry and Aspen Waste Systems' procedures
- Collaborate with team members to provide client solutions to meet customer's business needs
- Complete reporting and tracking of sales activities
