Academic Program Lead

Sola Academy by Fusion is a private therapeutic day school dedicated to serving students in grades 6 through 12, typically ages 11 to 18, who face a variety of learning differences. As an educational institution, Sola Academy is designed to provide tailored academic and therapeutic support that addresses the unique needs of each student. The school integrates expert educators with individualized academic programming alongside social-emotional and therapeutic services, creating an environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Approved to support students with Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Other Health Impairment (OHI), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional Disability (ED), Hearing Impairment, Orthopedic Impairment, and Speech or Language Impairment, Sola Academy is expanding to include Mild Intellectual Disability services soon. The academy primarily partners with home school districts to fund its student programs. The role of Academic Program Lead at Sola Academy is a senior leadership position entrusted with overseeing the quality, continuity, and consistent advancement of the school’s academic offerings. Reporting directly to the Head of School, this pivotal position manages all aspects of the academic experience—from curriculum design and instructional quality to teacher development and measurable student outcomes. The Academic Program Lead is responsible for ensuring that every student receives rigorous, strictly individualized instruction that is adaptive to their distinct learning profiles and educational requirements. The position demands a hands-on leader with a background in special education who has proven experience in teacher leadership, system-building, and a strong commitment to the potential of students with learning differences.

In this role, the Academic Program Lead spearheads the development and strengthening of the academic program by setting high standards for personalized learning and instructional integrity. The leader hires, coaches, develops, and supports faculty through continuous professional development and feedback cycles. Monitoring student progress and academic results is an essential component of the role, relying on data-driven decision-making to maintain compliance with standards and to fuel ongoing improvement efforts. Collaboration with campus leadership to align programs with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), maintain instructional quality, and support student transitions across educational stages is critical to success in this position.

The Academic Program Lead also fosters a collaborative teaching culture anchored in mentorship and consistent growth, further supporting students’ broader development through mentoring, behavioral guidance, and attention to social-emotional wellbeing. Building strong communication channels among families, staff, and allied professionals ensures that students’ experiences remain cohesive, supportive, and of the highest quality. The position offers a competitive salary range from $80,000 to $100,000 per year and immediate hiring is planned.
