Job Requirements
- At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred
- or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience
- or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of related experience
- Prior Director of Sales or National Sales experience selling major downtown markets required
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must possess highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Must have thorough experience with professional selling skills including opening, probing, supporting, closing
- Shows strong analytical skills and strategic vision in establishing sales deployment
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Strong organization and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and manage people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds while solving complex problems and creating a productive sales team
- Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales, marketing, hospitality profession
- Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations

Job Duties
- Coordinate all group, transient, and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize overall revenue
- Coordinate sales automation efforts, managing a region sales database for email campaigns and customer solicitation
- Develop, recommend, implement and manage the division's annual budget along with advertising, public relations, marketing and sales plans to maximize rate, occupancy and food and beverage opportunities
- Initiate and develop sales trips to key feeder markets and cities, supporting property Directors of Sales with on-property sales coordination
- Proactively conduct outside sales calls, sales tours and client entertainment
- Understand contract content and negotiate terms effectively
- Develop and maintain market awareness to forecast revenue opportunities and set strategies
- Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate market trends
- Conduct property visits to assess sales leadership, culture, and adherence to company standards
- Comply with attainment of individual and team goals and budgeted metrics
- Train hotel staff to recognize and capitalize on sales opportunities
- Manage human resources activities including hiring, training, coaching, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions with guidance from GM and HR
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations including sales, food and beverage, front office, and reservations
- Maintain strong local community and industry organization visibility
- Attend and conduct meetings, providing training as needed
- Promote open communication across hotels to achieve marketing and operational initiatives
- Travel weekly as required
- Act on behalf of the General Manager in their absence and perform additional duties as assigned
