The Flightline A&P Mechanic role based in Mobile, AL is a vital position within the A320 team. This is a second shift, Monday through Friday job from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, with flexibility expected based on company needs. The Flightline Mechanic is responsible for performing critical Functional Test Procedures and carrying out both pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure aircraft readiness for test flights and final delivery. The role requires troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting various aircraft systems using approved aircraft data to maintain operational excellence.

The role demands a high level of technical skill and knowledge in aircraft maintenance and repair, particularly in areas such as landing gear, flight surfaces, controls, anti-icing systems, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and ventilation. You will be tasked with maintaining and reworking aircraft components and servicing cabin interior components with strict adherence to company policies and aviation standards. Documentation and compliance are essential to this role, requiring thorough preparation of maintenance records and adherence to safety procedures.

Employees in this role work in a dynamic and physically demanding environment where operating ground support equipment, man lifts, and carrying or lifting up to 40 pounds are common. The job also involves pushing and pulling heavy equipment and sometimes working in various weather conditions, necessitating both physical stamina and adaptability. This position requires readiness to work rotating shifts that include evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with the ability to travel both domestically and internationally for training and aircraft recovery purposes.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Vocational/tech school credential
  • 3 years minimum aviation experience in manufacturing or MRO
  • Valid airframe and powerplant license
  • Valid driver license
  • willing to work rotation shift schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to obtain or possess a valid passport for unrestricted travel to Canada
  • Physically able to perform duties including lifting up to 40 lbs and operating equipment
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Job Qualifications

  • 3 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment
  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant License
  • Valid driver license

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport which allows unrestricted travel to Canada

Job Duties

  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, rigs, repairs, replacement aircraft structures, components and aircraft systems of moderate difficulty
  • Maintain and rework aircraft components including but not limited to landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and ventilation
  • Service and repair cabin interior components
  • Prepare documentation in accordance with company procedures
  • Perform day to day aircraft maintenance
  • Experience with refuel/defuel, aircraft jack and tow
