Bethlehem Central School District is a reputable educational institution located in New York, committed to providing quality education and a supportive learning environment for its students. The district operates multiple schools serving a diverse student population, and it is dedicated to fostering academic excellence, creativity, and community involvement. As a public school district, Bethlehem Central is focused on maintaining high standards not only in education but also in the support services that contribute to a positive school experience for students and staff alike. The district values its employees and emphasizes professional development, collaboration, and a respectful work culture. Employment opportunities within the district are designed to attract skilled individuals who are passionate about contributing to the educational mission and the well-being of the school community.

Currently, Bethlehem Central School District is seeking a dedicated Cook Manager I for a probationary 10-month position, working 7.0 hours per day from 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM on school days, effective from September 1, 2026. This role is district-wide, offering an opportunity to work in various school kitchen environments. The Cook Manager I position plays a vital role in the district’s food service program, requiring supervisory skills, hands-on participation in food preparation, and overall management of kitchen operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing large-scale food preparation activities, ensuring compliance with nutritional standards, and managing supplies and staff efficiently. This role contributes significantly to the health and nutrition of students, aligning with the educational goals by promoting well-balanced meals.

The responsibilities include supervising and participating in food preparation and serving, managing food storage and kitchen cleanliness, keeping accurate records of supplies and employee hours, planning menus within budget and nutritional guidelines, and ordering necessary food and supplies. This position demands strong knowledge of food service principles, effective leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with other staff and the school community. The Cook Manager I must also be physically fit to meet the demands of the job and demonstrate resourcefulness, good judgment, and tact in their daily interactions.

If you have experience in large-scale food preparation, a solid understanding of nutrition principles, and the ability to lead and manage kitchen staff, this role offers a chance to be part of a supportive district that values your expertise. The position not only requires technical skills but also interpersonal qualities to maintain a well-functioning food service environment in a busy school setting.
