The role of Manager at 7 Brew embodies leadership, operational excellence, and the nurturing of a positive workplace culture. This full-time position reports directly to the Regional Manager and carries the critical responsibility for ensuring the growth and profitable operation of the assigned stand location. The Manager acts as the pivotal leader of their crew, fostering genuine connections with team members and understanding the nuances particular to their stand(s). Beyond scheduled shifts, the Manager is dedicated to coaching, training, administrative duties, and overseeing day-to-day operations. They ensure that all team members perform their duties proficiently while maintaining excellent standards for customer interaction, cleanliness, and efficient service.

One of the primary responsibilities includes managing labor costs while guaranteeing quick wait times and a positive environment through strategic scheduling and communication. The Manager is also responsible for inventory control, ensuring that orders for supplies, parts, and equipment are timely and cost-effective. Cash handling procedures are rigorously maintained to safeguard financial accuracy and security.

Key to the role is the leadership aspect, encompassing the development of new leaders within the team and regularly facilitating team bonding and development through meetings and events. The Manager must be proactive in solving problems and implementing solutions, working collaboratively with vendors or partners if necessary. Additionally, they ensure all health and safety requirements are met consistently.

The position demands a flexible schedule with availability for early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled visits to the stand to support the team. Communication is constant, with the Manager expected to be always reachable either by phone or in-person to address any operational needs immediately. This role offers a base salary of $55,000 plus monthly bonuses tied to store-level performance, reflecting the importance of leadership and operational success to the overall brand.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior leadership experience in a fast-paced retail or food service environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage inventory and labor costs effectively
  • Proficient in cash handling and basic administrative tasks
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs, standing for extended periods, and using ladders
  • Commitment to upholding health and safety standards
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Can create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions with strangers for up to two minutes at a time
  • Can work carefully and quickly with hot water and coffee, glass bottles, and dairy products
  • Can work outside for prolonged periods, regardless of weather conditions
  • Can lift up to 50lbs
  • Can stand comfortably for hours at a time
  • Can climb a ladder and use a stepladder
  • Can stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to stock and clean in the stand
  • Can safely walk in between and around cars in the drive-thru line
  • Can safely use a utility knife
  • Can quickly and cleanly operate any position in the stand during peak hours
  • Can maintain awareness of the shift’s operations while working a position
  • Can assertively and graciously confront their friends to address operational, procedural, or cultural issues
  • Can adapt to problems and implement solutions during stressful situations
  • Effectively manages multiple projects and deadlines
  • Can effectively lead and direct multiple personality types under pressure
  • Has proven leadership abilities in a fast-paced environment with 40+ team members
  • Beginner-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Duties

  • Must be proficient in all Brewista and Shift Lead duties and skill sets
  • Maintains excellent wait times, cleanliness, and customer interactions through training, coaching, and encouragement
  • Provides regular feedback to each team member on strengths and areas of growth
  • Works with their crew’s needs and availability to create a weekly shift schedule, maintaining a low cost of labor while ensuring quick wait times and short lines
  • Tracks and orders necessary inventory, small wares, parts, and equipment, while maintaining a low cost of goods sold by eliminating waste and accurate counting
  • Ensures appropriate cash handling, deposits, and change for their stand
  • Facilitates team bonding and development through regular meetings and events for their Shift Leads and Brewistas, in both one-on-one and group contexts
  • Takes ownership of solutions, whether through solving the problem themselves or looping in an approved partner or vendor
  • Ensure the crew is knowledgeable and meeting all health requirements
  • Is always developing new leaders to step into upcoming roles, regardless of current or future needs
  • Promptly implements and communicates directives from upper management
  • Thoughtfully delegates tasks to their leadership team and Brewistas to facilitate efficiency and appropriate development
