The role offered is for a dedicated Mathematics Teacher responsible for teaching students in grades 7-12, bringing engaging, rigorous instruction that aligns with Pennsylvania Academic Standards. The position is full-time and based in person at the school facilities. The teacher will play a critical role in delivering instruction that enhances students' mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and quantitative analysis skills. This role requires the incorporation of real-world applications and project-based learning experiences to demonstrate the practical relevance of mathematics in everyday life and careers.

This position also involves integrating technology and various digital learning tools, including graphing software and mathematical applications, to support diverse learners. The Mathematics Teacher will design instructional activities that promote inquiry, data analysis, and evidence-based reasoning, while also addressing financial literacy, career readiness, and workforce-related mathematical applications. Differentiated instruction will be used to accommodate students with varying academic abilities, ensuring that all students receive tailored interventions and enrichment opportunities enhancing their learning growth.

Beyond classroom instruction, the Mathematics Teacher will manage a safe, organized, and technology-rich classroom environment. This includes monitoring and maintaining instructional technology equipment and fostering responsible use of these resources according to district policies. The teacher is expected to administer and analyze assessments to guide instructional planning and provide timely feedback to students on their academic progress and career readiness skills.

Collaboration is a key aspect of this role. The successful candidate will work closely with administrators, counselors, fellow educators, and community partners to improve curriculum and program effectiveness specifically related to business and technology education. Participation in professional development opportunities to stay current with emerging educational technologies, industry trends, and pedagogical best practices is required. Effective communication with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders is paramount to this position.

The role also requires compliance with all district policies and state/federal requirements including necessary clearances such as criminal record checks and mandated reporter training under Pennsylvania law. The Mathematics Teacher is expected to maintain accurate records, uphold confidentiality, and embody the ethical standards and mission of Carlynton School District. Regular evaluations will be conducted by the Building Principal to ensure adherence to performance standards and continuous professional growth.

The position includes a competitive salary and benefits package defined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Carlynton School District and the Carlynton Federation of Teachers. Job Requirements

  • Valid Pennsylvania certification as 7-12 English
  • ability to traverse throughout school buildings and District facilities as needed
  • ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • ability to lift, move, or transport materials and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
  • manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment and computer technology
  • ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements associated with keyboard and computer use
  • must submit required clearances including Arrest/Conviction Report, Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History Check, FBI Criminal History Check, and Mandated Reporter Training
  • clearances must be renewed every five years
  • must provide Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release Form for all former employers

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Pennsylvania certification as 7-12 Mathematics teacher
