FedEx Freight, Inc. is a premier less-than-truckload (LTL) freight transportation company that is part of the larger FedEx corporation. Established as a leader in the freight industry, FedEx Freight specializes in delivering high-quality, reliable, and timely freight services across the United States and Canada. The company operates with a deep commitment to customer service, operational excellence, and employee development, making it a trusted partner for businesses needing efficient freight solutions. With a vast network of service centers and a seasoned workforce, FedEx Freight ensures operations run smoothly and client needs are met with precision and care.
The position being offered is a leadership role focused on ensuring customer satisfaction through managing shipment operations that are both timely and damage-free. This role requires a proactive leader who can inspire, manage, and develop employees to maintain high-performance levels and adhere strictly to safety and quality protocols. The role involves planning, supervising, and optimizing daily freight shipment activities while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. The leader will also act as a liaison with customers and business partners to streamline service and improve operational efficiencies.
This full-time position demands thorough knowledge of LTL freight operations, relevant Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, OSHA standards, and hazardous materials handling protocols. It requires a hands-on approach to employee management, including guidance on safety practices, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, the role involves administrative responsibilities related to scheduling, reporting, cost control, and customer service support such as assisting with rate quotes and claim processing.
Ideal candidates will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and possess excellent communication skills. They must be adaptable to the dynamic environment of freight operations, which often involves variable hours and exposure to diverse working conditions such as dock environments and differing weather. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, the role also expects familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and internet navigation for reporting and communication.
FedEx Freight values diversity and inclusion in its workforce and is committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer. The company provides support for applicants with disabilities and offers a fair and respectful workplace that promotes growth and retention of employees. This role is central to sustaining FedEx Freight’s reputation for dependable service and sets the foundation for employee engagement and customer satisfaction in the freight industry.
Joining FedEx Freight means becoming part of a recognized industry leader requiring dedication to safety, quality, and efficiency. The position presents an opportunity to develop professionally while contributing significantly to the company's operational success and customer loyalty.
