This full-time position is for a Cleaner, responsible for general daily cleaning tasks across various elementary school buildings within the district. The role involves performing thorough cleaning duties during the afternoon and evening hours, specifically from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The position is scheduled for 8 hours each day, reflecting the need for consistent and reliable staffing to maintain cleanliness throughout the school's facilities. The appointment starts on July 1, 2026, with a probationary status initially. This role is vital to ensuring that the classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas are kept in a hygienic and orderly state conducive to a positive school environment.
The Cleaner will adhere to the procedures and standards set forth in the OPSRPA bargaining agreement, with a competitive hourly rate of $16.69. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and other general custodial duties within the school environment. Being an integral part of the school’s maintenance team, the Cleaner will contribute to the overall health and safety of students and staff by adhering to cleaning schedules, using cleaning supplies and equipment responsibly, and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.

Job Requirements
- able to work 8 hours per day monday through friday from 3 pm to 11 pm
- willing to undergo background checks and drug screening
- physically capable of performing cleaning tasks including lifting bending and standing

Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior cleaning or custodial experience is an asset
