Job Description
Ventura Foods is a leading food manufacturing company based in Ontario, committed to producing high-quality food products while maintaining exemplary standards of sanitation and safety. As a salaried employer with onsite working conditions, Ventura Foods operates a sophisticated and safety-focused manufacturing plant that adheres strictly to food safety regulations and industry best practices. They are dedicated to compliance with regulatory standards including the Safe Quality Food (SQF) code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)/Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls (HARPC) protocols. This commitment ensures the production of safe, reliable food products that meet consumer and regulatory demands in an evolving global marketplace.
The Sanitation Supervisor role at Ventura Foods plays a critical leadership function within the sanitation department of the plant. This third-shift position entails providing effective management and guidance to the sanitation team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in all plant processes. The supervisor ensures that all sanitation activities comply with established food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The role calls for organizing daily schedules for sanitation team members, enforcing attendance and safety rules, managing inventory of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and facilitating ongoing training programs geared towards maintaining sanitation excellence. This position liaises closely with other departments, including Learning and Development and plant microbiology, to enhance the environmental monitoring program and uphold the company's sanitation standards.
One of the key responsibilities involves conducting routine post-cleaning inspections, including the implementation and monitoring of the ATP program, reviewing sanitation records, and analyzing cleaning-in-place (CIP) data to ensure chemical concentrations and flow rates meet required standards. The supervisor will also oversee the maintenance of sanitation equipment, coordinating with maintenance teams and third-party vendors to perform preventative maintenance or replace aging equipment. Budget management is integral to the position, with accountability for the sanitation department’s labor and supply budgets, requiring regular reporting to management.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree or have equivalent experience and possess prior supervisory or lead experience in a sanitation or food manufacturing environment. Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and leadership capabilities are essential to succeed in this role. This position offers a competitive base salary range between $81,454.00 and $103,915.35, along with an annual bonus based on company incentive programs.
Ventura Foods fosters an inclusive and diverse work environment that values respect and equality for all employees. They offer comprehensive benefits including medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage from the first day of employment for eligible employees, profit sharing, 401(k) matching, paid vacation, sick time, holidays, and employee assistance programs. The company emphasizes physical safety and requires employees to be capable of performing physically demanding tasks and working under variable environmental conditions with proper personal protective equipment.
This senior sanitation leadership position presents an excellent opportunity for career advancement within a respected and well-established food manufacturing company, dedicated to employee growth, safety, and quality food production.
