Job Description
The hiring establishment is a manufacturing company that operates continuously to produce high-quality products, requiring strict adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement processes. This company is known for its commitment to maintaining reliability and excellence in its products, catering to various industries that demand precise and consistent output. The company offers a full-time position on the 3rd shift schedule, specifically from 11 pm to 7 am, providing a stable work environment with competitive compensation. The starting wage is $24 per hour plus a $1.25 per hour shift premium, which makes this opportunity both attractive and rewarding for candidates looking for night shift employment in a technical role.
The role of Quality Technician is critical within the company's production and quality assurance teams. The Quality Technician is primarily responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process to ensure they meet specified quality and reliability standards. This position involves compiling and evaluating statistical data, performing capability studies, material testing, and conducting quality audits to detect and resolve any inconsistencies or defects during production. The technician will also assist manufacturing teams in interpreting quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and product quality.
The Quality Technician must be adept at using a variety of testing equipment and software tools, including statistical analysis methods, calibration of gauges, and managing documentation for quality assurance purposes. This role demands a person with effective analytical abilities, strong communication skills, thorough attention to detail, and a solid understanding of manufacturing quality standards. The position may also require performing special investigations, supporting projects assigned by supervisors, and maintaining an organized laboratory environment. From performing Rockwell and Ra testing on products and raw materials to generating PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) studies, the technician plays a vital part in sustaining the company’s reputation for excellence.
The work environment can expose the Quality Technician to moving mechanical parts, occasional wet or humid conditions, airborne particles, and various noise levels that are typically moderate. The employee is expected to engage physically by standing, walking, handling samples, and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds. Additionally, the role requires close, distance, peripheral, and color vision sensitivity, along with the ability to focus on detailed tasks consistently. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Overall, this is a dynamic full-time role that appeals to individuals with a preference for night shift work and a passion for ensuring product quality and consistency within a manufacturing environment. The company values employees who are highly organized, customer service-oriented, and proactive in identifying quality issues and providing solutions. This position offers not only a competitive salary but also an opportunity to grow professionally within a company that prioritizes quality and operational excellence, making it an excellent choice for quality-focused technicians seeking stability and professional development in the manufacturing sector.
