As a bakery host at Lowes Foods, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellent guest service through day-to-day bakery department activities. This position is designed for individuals who are friendly, outgoing, and dedicated to maintaining both product quality and store standards. The employment type offers competitive hourly pay with an additional $2.00 per hour premium for overnight shifts between 10PM and 6AM during the summer months from May 10 to September 5, 2026. Your responsibilities will include greeting guests courteously, preparing bakery products for sale including baking, weighing, and pricing, and ensuring all items meet the freshness and quality standards that customers expect. This role is instrumental in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in key bakery areas such as the cooler, freezer, prep, and sales zones.

Moreover, you will assist with cake decorating upon request and communicate any guest feedback or bakehouse issues to management, helping to sustain smooth operations. Keeping the supply area organized and performing front porch duties to minimize guest waiting times are additional essential parts of the job. Hosting duties also extend to announcing special promotions and sales on the public address system and supporting the receiving and storage of bakery products. The job requires physical activity including lifting up to 25 pounds consistently and occasionally 50 pounds, standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods, ensuring the bakery meets the high standards set by Lowes Foods.
