The role of the 3rd Assistant Taquería Manager at Vallarta Supermarkets is a vital leadership position within the Taquería and La Isla departments. This role involves supporting the Taquería Manager and Assistant Taquería Manager in planning, directing, and managing the daily operations to ensure both quality and customer satisfaction. The 3rd Assistant Taquería Manager plays a key role in maintaining the authenticity, freshness, and presentation of the food products served, while also upholding strict safety and sanitation standards. The position requires a dynamic individual who can lead by example, delegate effectively, and foster a team-oriented environment.

In addition to overseeing food preparation and merchandising, the 3rd Assistant Taquería Manager is responsible for training and coaching staff, promoting professional development, and ensuring compliance with company policies and health regulations. The candidate must be adept at managing inventory, reviewing invoices, and maintaining sales records to support smooth operational flow. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to succeed in this fast-paced retail setting where customer interaction is frequent and critical.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in food preparation or culinary trade preferred
Food safety certification required and must be maintained every 3 years
Strong leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills
Ability to manage inventory and handle administrative tasks
Physical ability to stand and walk for 6-8+ hours daily
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Willingness to transfer to other store locations within a reasonable commute

Job Qualifications

Knowledge of preparing and cooking authentic Taquería foods
Familiarity with professional food preparation equipment, tools, and ovens
Ability to lead and coach employees in a fast-paced environment
Strong math, organizational, and communication skills
Prior culinary trade experience helpful
Must successfully pass food safety certification every 3 years
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Must be able to transfer to other store locations within a reasonable commute
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Duties

Act as a role model for employees, delegate tasks effectively, enforce company rules, and ensure outstanding customer service
Assume the responsibilities of the Assistant Taquería Manager in their absence
plan and oversee department activities and operations
Provide courteous, efficient service and maintain a clean, welcoming environment
Train, coach, and discipline employees as needed
recognize and recommend team members for promotion
Assist with ordering, reviewing invoices, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records of sales and transfers
Ensure food consistency, freshness, appearance, and variety
Maintain a presentable lineup throughout the day
Rotate and replenish products, ensure signage accuracy, and maintain proper food storage and temperatures
Enforce Vallarta’s Safety Program, correct unsafe conditions immediately, and ensure compliance with health codes and company dress standards
Maintain cleanliness of food prep areas, counters, floors, and equipment
Support department manager with schedules, attend meetings, and perform additional tasks as assigned
