The role at the LINCOLN-48TH ST store is a part-time position focused on providing outstanding customer service and maintaining high merchandising standards. This position involves engaging directly with customers to assist them in shopping and finding products, providing a fast and friendly checkout experience, and supporting various in-store processes including merchandise stocking, truck unloading, and ensuring the store is well merchandised and fully stocked. A key element of this role is promoting and facilitating customer enrollments in the Michaels Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, as well as educating customers about the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey. Additional responsibilities include assisting with omni-channel fulfillment tasks such as Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS) services. Team Members are also responsible for supporting shrink reduction and safety programs, adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies to ensure legal compliance and operational excellence.
This position demands physical capabilities including prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and the ability to move throughout the store. Some tasks may require lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves using ladders or similar equipment. Work hours may include nights, weekends, and early mornings, and the work environment includes both climate-controlled public retail areas and non-climate-controlled stock rooms, with occasional outdoor duties and exposure to equipment in the frame shop such as glass cutters and heat presses. Given the dynamic and customer-centric nature of the job, the ideal candidate will maintain a positive, respectful attitude and present themselves as a role model for fellow team members, even in challenging situations. Cross training in custom framing selling and production is part of the role, enhancing the variety and skills involved in the position. Job Requirements
- Be at least sixteen (16) years old
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time
- Ability to move throughout the store
- Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using ladders or similar equipment
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and early mornings as needed
- Eligible to work in the United States

- Retail and/or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication skills

Job Duties
- Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions
- Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience
- Execute cash handling to standards
- Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments
- Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey
- Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
- Participate in the truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance including the merchandise return/go back process and general store recovery
- Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned
- Support shrink and safety programs
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance
- Interact with others in a positive and respectful manner
- Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production
- Other duties as assigned
