The Nutrition Services I - Server position is an essential role within the district’s food services program, which supports student health and wellness by providing nutritious meals in school cafeterias. Under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Services Supervisor, the Server is responsible for food preparation, serving, and kitchen maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient food service operation. This role involves routine duties such as cooking, serving food, cleaning kitchen areas, maintaining meal counts, handling cash transactions, and operating meal software. The Server also assists with the organization of supplies and supervises student helpers contributing to the daily functioning of the service area.

This position is vital to the daily nourishment and satisfaction of students across the district, requiring consistent attention to health and safety protocols, proper portion control, and adherence to USDA regulations. The job includes physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and occasional climbing. Employees typically work within a kitchen or cafeteria setting exposed to usual cooking hazards like hot stoves and sharp utensils.

Ideal candidates should possess the ability to follow instructions accurately, manage food and money efficiently, and maintain cleanliness in their work areas. Additionally, they must hold or be willing to obtain an Oregon Food Handler's Permit or maintain current ServSafe certification. Although minimal experience is required, a high school education or equivalent is necessary to perform basic reading, writing, and math skills relevant to the role. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Perform routine food preparation duties
