Currently, Visual Pak is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join their team as Pre-weigh Associates. This role is critical in supporting the compounding activities within the organization by executing precise pre-weighing actions based on established work orders. The Pre-weigh Associate plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of material measurement which directly impacts the quality and consistency of finished products. The position involves handling a variety of chemicals and materials, including hazardous substances, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and detailed documentation practices. Candidates will be expected to operate manual scales and automated systems, document measurements for varying quantities from as little as one gram to several thousand pounds, and assist in the overall maintenance and cleanliness of compounding equipment and work areas.
In this role, individuals will also support compounding associates by assisting with the preparation and movement of raw materials, environmental monitoring, and compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety conscious, and adept at following complex instructions with a proactive mindset for assisting team members. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in pre-weigh duties preferred
- Knowledge of compounding preferred
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow work direction and take initiative
- Ability to recognize and respond to safety hazards
- Prior forklift or pallet jack operation experience
- Familiarity with hazardous chemicals and signage
- Basic math skills including weight unit conversions
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency in English for reading and writing
- Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed procedures
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Good vision and hearing
- No travel required
- Own vehicle preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous job specific experience with pre-weigh duties preferred
- Compounding experience preferred
- Demonstrates attention to detail
- Comfortable taking work direction and applying self-initiative
- Able to recognize safety situations and apply smart action
- Prior use of forklift or pallet jack
- Competency around hazardous chemicals and signage
- Able to compute basic math calculations with familiarity in weight units
- Basic computer knowledge
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Comprehensive ability using the English language to understand SOPs, formulas and manufacturing instructions
- Able to read and interpret documents and reports
- Capable to write routine forms, reports, and correspondence
Job Duties
- Enforce hazardous material handling procedures
- Follows set manufacturing instructions, SOPs and GMP
- Provides pre-weigh tasks and actions of chemicals for batch compounding or raw material preparation
- Ensures all specified material types and quantities of liquid or solid raw ingredients are measured using manual scales or automated systems
- Documents measurements and as assigned according to formula varying from 1-gram to 3,000-pounds
- Extracts bulk samples for laboratory analysis
- Assists in the handling, dispensing and sampling of hazardous raw materials
- Assists in the daily cleaning/sanitization of equipment such as scoops, spoons, buckets, drums, kettles, mixers, pumps, utensils, and compounding rooms
- Performs daily environmental monitoring according to schedule and SOP
- Records activity in database system
- Moves chemical or material by hand or forklift
- Assists in the weighing/mixing of sanitizing agents
- Reviews orders for accuracy and completeness
- Completes required batch documentation records
- Responsible for keeping work area clean
- Follows all safety protocols including protective gear and equipment
- Assists compounding associates in tending mixing tanks, compounding kettles, mills, mixers, pumps, transferring raw materials and bulk product within production areas
