Job Description
Boeing is a global leader in aerospace, known for its innovation, advanced technology, and commitment to making the world a better place through its contributions to the aviation industry. The company fosters an inclusive and respectful environment where employees have ample opportunities for professional growth and development. Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), a division focused on designing and manufacturing commercial aircraft, is a prominent player in the aerospace sector, particularly renowned for its 787 Dreamliner series. The 787 Production Engineering team, based in North Charleston, SC, is an integral part of BCA, dedicated to ensuring the highest quality and performance standards in aircraft production.
Boeing is currently seeking Product Review Engineers, at both Associate (Level 2) and Mid-Level (Level 3), often referred to as Liaison Engineers, to join the 787 Production Engineering team. This role is vital in maintaining and enhancing product quality by addressing issues related to non-conforming products, troubleshooting, and performing root cause corrective actions (RCCA). Successful candidates will participate in a 9-to-12-month Boeing Training Rotation Program, designed to provide broad exposure to various aspects of product and production engineering. This role requires flexibility as it involves shift work (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift) and occasional overtime, including weekends and holidays, depending on business needs.
As a Product Review Engineer, you will be instrumental in assessing and resolving product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals. The job exposes engineers to a dynamic factory environment with potential hazards such as stairs, high noise, chemical exposure, and ongoing aircraft assembly processes. Engineers will use their expertise to analyze design non-conformities, conduct root cause analyses, develop interim and permanent solutions, and support product and process improvements.
Additionally, the role entails participation in Integrated Product Teams (IPT), involvement in design reviews, ensuring compliance with Boeing standards among suppliers and build partners, and contributing to customer communications related to product safety and maintenance. The position also involves problem-solving in structural repairs, damage assessments, static strength analysis, and developing non-destructive test procedures. Candidates will be expected to represent the engineering community within various phases of aircraft build and post-production.
This opportunity is ideal for engineers with a background in airplane systems, aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, systems engineering, certification, or safety. Boeing values candidates with experience in interpreting electrical schematics, structural design principles, and the ability to work in a multi-shift environment. The role offers a competitive salary range, with Associate Level positions offering $85,000 to $115,000 annually, and Mid-Level positions offering $103,700 to $140,300, depending on experience and qualifications. Boeing provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, among other perks.
Joining Boeing means becoming part of a team that emphasizes innovation, safety, and quality within one of the world’s most trusted aerospace companies. Candidates must be U.S. persons as defined by export control regulations, and Boeing is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
