Job Requirements

  • At least one year of practical experience cooking in a hotel, restaurant, or busy catering setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to acquire and maintain Transport Canada Security Clearance
  • Willingness to work mornings, mid-days, evenings, late nights, weekends, public holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Capability to safely lift, push, pull or move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Commitment to food safety and cleanliness protocols

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of practical experience cooking in a hotel, restaurant, or busy catering setting
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Culinary degree or certification in cooking beneficial
  • Red Seal certification recommended but not mandatory
  • Capable of acquiring and upholding Transport Canada Security Clearance
  • Proficient organizational and time management abilities in a fast-paced setting
  • Able to safely handle and transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Follow instructions to create both warm and chilled dishes as per prescribed recipes, serving sizes, and traveler preferences
  • Practice safe handling of different kitchen appliances like ovens, fryers, steam kettles, charbroilers, flat top stoves, and gas ranges
  • Reduce the amount of food wasted by optimizing the utilization of raw ingredients
  • Always uphold uniformity in the quality and visual appeal of food offerings
  • Adhere to the safety, cleanliness, and food preparation protocols specified by Gategroup's regulations and client directives
  • Efficiently handle time and organize tasks in a busy kitchen setting
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other divisions to promote seamless functioning
  • Execute extra tasks as required by supervisors to assist with kitchen functions
