Job Description

Litehouse Foods is a well-established, 100% employee-owned company renowned for its leadership in the refrigerated salad dressings, dips, sauces, herbs, and cheese market. Originating from a humble restaurant in Hope, Idaho, founded by the Hawkins family 60 years ago, Litehouse has grown into a trusted brand with four manufacturing facilities across Michigan, Utah, Virginia, and Idaho. The company offers a diverse portfolio of products that reach consumers through various channels, including general retail, e-commerce, foodservice, deli, member stores, and value-added meal and salad kits. This growth and product diversification emphasize Litehouse's commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Litehouse prides itself on not only producing high-quality food products but also fostering a positive work environment that values its employees and the communities where it operates. Being a wholly employee-owned company, Litehouse empowers its users by encouraging ownership and involvement, making it a great place to pursue a career. Extensive employee benefits and opportunities for career advancement underscore the company’s dedication to its workforce.

The role of Mixer at Litehouse is critical to the company's manufacturing process, especially in producing high-value, detailed recipes that require precision and adherence to rigorous safety protocols. Located in Lowell, the Mixer position operates primarily on a rotating 223 shift schedule, working from 5pm to 5:30am. The starting pay rate for this position is $20.50 per hour, with additional pay differentials for second shift at $1.50 per hour and for third/D/C shifts at $3.00 per hour, making it a financially attractive opportunity for individuals looking to work in food manufacturing. As a Mixer, you are responsible for managing mix systems, including spice, preparation, and testing components, ensuring that productions run smoothly and efficiently. The job requires hands-on operation of blenders and metering systems to accurately load ingredients and produce batches following detailed recipes. The use of advanced batch automation and computer systems is a key aspect of this role, and training is provided to develop proficiency in this technology. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the workspace and production area is essential, along with rigorous compliance to allergen and food safety protocols. The role also requires effective inventory management, using scanners and software to track inputs and maintain FIFO (first in, first out) standards. Working at Litehouse also means embracing flexibility as the role may include frequent overtime hours and weekend shifts.

Joining Litehouse as a Mixer means becoming part of a community-oriented, employee-focused company dedicated to quality, innovation, and workforce well-being. Employees enjoy a stable and rewarding work environment with comprehensive benefits and recognition programs, making Litehouse a desirable employer in the food manufacturing sector.
