The Group Sales Manager at Cotton Court Hotel holds a pivotal role focused on driving revenue growth and expanding the hotel’s client base. This is a full-time exempt position based in Lubbock, TX, reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans aimed at maximizing hotel bookings and achieving revenue targets. The role primarily targets generating sales from corporate clients, social bookings, and travel agencies while maintaining strong and lasting relationships with current clientele.
This position requires a professional with a proven track record in achieving sales and revenue goals, managing budgets, and nurturing positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. The Group Sales Manager must demonstrate the ability to work proactively and independently, taking ownership of projects from inception to completion while fostering a collaborative team atmosphere. The ability to negotiate contracts, manage group inventory, and participate actively in community organizations for client solicitation is crucial.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, leading contract negotiations for profitable group bookings, preparing sales reports and forecasts for senior management, and collaborating with revenue teams to maximize room and food & beverage revenue. The candidate will also engage in proactive business development, attend industry events and trade shows, and uphold company procedures for audit and credit guidelines.
The role demands excellent organizational, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Proficiency in sales software such as Delphi, Property Management Software (PMS), and Microsoft Office Suite is expected. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and travel regionally and nationally as required. Evening and weekend work availability is also necessary.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3+ years experience in sales
- Independent hotel experience preferred
- Knowledge of hospitality sales industry principles and best practices
- Proactive, self-starter able to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent organizational, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in sales software (Delphi), Property Management Software (PMS), and Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to travel regionally and nationally as required
- Must be available to work some nights and weekends

Job Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and increase market share
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and attending industry events
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event planners, and other key stakeholders
- Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure profitable group bookings
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management
