Job Description

Sherwin-Williams is a renowned global leader in the paint and coatings industry, committed to inspiring and improving the world by coloring and protecting what matters. Founded over a century ago, Sherwin-Williams has expanded its reach across the United States, serving professional clients with innovative products and exceptional service. The company prides itself on its promote-from-within philosophy, providing employees with abundant opportunities for career growth and development. Specifically, the Sherwin-Williams Floorcovering Division operates nationally, catering to commercial customers by supplying high-quality floorcovering materials and solutions. This division upholds the company’s standards for excellence and customer satisfaction, positioning itself as a key player in the flooring industry.

The Sherwin-Williams Floorcovering Management & Sales Training Program is an accelerated, entry-level development initiative designed to prepare candidates for leadership roles within the company. Typically lasting 18 to 24 months, the program equips participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel as either a Floorcovering Facility Manager or a Sales Representative. The program begins with 8 to 12 weeks of intensive training, after which successful candidates are placed in positions across strategic states including Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.

During the training, participants partner with facility leadership, sales, and regional management teams to oversee multi-million-dollar operations. Trainees receive comprehensive exposure to various aspects of facility management, including product knowledge, installation techniques, customer service, client development, and strategic business operations. The program emphasizes developing leadership capabilities and business acumen, preparing candidates to contribute meaningfully to growth initiatives and market share expansion. Through hands-on experience with commercial consumers such as property management firms, builders, and renovation contractors, trainees gain insight into customer organizational structures and procurement processes, enabling them to build rewarding professional relationships.

The training experience is structured to offer limitless career opportunities by providing formal progress evaluations and continuous support. Participants develop leadership competencies essential to managing teams, driving sales, understanding marketing and finance functions, and mastering operational strategies. In addition to technical training, the program fosters professional networking by encouraging engagement with community stakeholders and potential customers, further enhancing career prospects.

The role’s schedule typically involves 44 hours per week and may require working evenings or weekends. Candidates must be prepared for direct interactions with customers, access to cash and confidential information, and adherence to safety and loss prevention protocols. Sherwin-Williams prioritizes a safe and inclusive work environment and conducts background checks to protect all stakeholders.

At Sherwin-Williams, employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package alongside a commitment to personal and professional growth. The company values diversity and inclusion, striving to create a workplace where all employees feel valued and supported. The Floorcovering Management & Sales Training Program represents a unique opportunity to launch a rewarding career within a stable and expanding organization dedicated to enabling individuals to define their professional futures.
