Job Description

Wolfoods, Inc. specializes in operating summer camp kitchens across the United States from May through September, providing high-quality culinary experiences tailored specially for camp environments. The company is distinct in its approach to camp cuisine as it moves away from traditional freezer-to-table food concepts and instead promotes fresh, home-style scratch cooking. Partnering with camps focused on offering healthy, fresh, and delicious meals, Wolfoods aims to transform the way camp food is perceived—establishing a reputation for camp cuisine that is not only balanced and nutritious but also culturally diverse and appealing. Their summer camp kitchens and dining halls also serve as educational platforms to teach campers about the importance of balanced diets and sustainable green initiatives. The kitchens emphasize diverse menu offerings that allow campers to enjoy familiar favorites while exploring new cultural dishes, creating an enriching food experience. Each meal is complemented by freshly baked items prepared in onsite camp bakeries by Wolfoods' professional bakers, alongside morning fruit and yogurt bars and elaborate salad bars during lunch and dinner options. Special attention is given to personalized dietary needs, ensuring no camper goes without proper care. From kosher to nut-free, gluten-free to vegan, Wolfoods' trained chefs sensitively address a wide array of special diet requirements with expert consideration.

This job opportunity is for experienced Bakers/Pastry Chefs who are ready to engage in a hands-on and demanding role that requires high skill, initiative, and leadership. The position is seasonal, operating within the May to September timeframe. Culinary staff will reside onsite at the camp location and will receive room, board, and travel assistance as part of the employment package. This role demands the flawless execution of Wolfoods' comprehensive Camp Food Service Program. Bakers and Pastry Chefs must collaborate effectively with children, exchange students, camp staff, and management, maintaining professional communication and adhering to strict service and culinary standards. The fast-paced environment requires a keen sense of urgency and the ability to handle service timing, food quantity, and food quality meticulously across all meal periods and special requests.

Wolfoods Culinary Professionals are responsible for skilled scratch-made food production, staff supervision, and coaching, ensuring that the bakery operation meets Wolfoods' gold-standard service quality and sanitation protocols. This includes inventory control, order assembly, project management, and upholding health department sanitation standards. Bakers are involved in all processes from food preparation to specialized decorating and menu planning, incorporating safe special diet and allergen food preparation techniques. The role offers a unique opportunity to lead and train teams, manage the bakery operation, and contribute creatively by developing and tasting new recipes. Candidates will need to demonstrate proficiency in baking from scratch, effective leadership capabilities, and a passion for maintaining high-quality food production under demanding conditions. This role is ideal for individuals seeking seasonal summer work, who enjoy the challenge of a high-volume commercial kitchen environment, and who embrace a team-oriented and learning-focused culture while living in a rustic, communal setting. Wolfoods is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive workspace where all employees can thrive and contribute to transforming camp cuisine experiences.
