The role of Baker / Pastry Chef at WOLFoods is a hands-on and demanding position that calls for experience, motivation, and a capable professional who can flawlessly execute the Wolfoods Camp Food Service Program. The position requires living on-site at the camp location, with room, board, and travel assistance provided, making it a unique opportunity for those who enjoy immersive summer seasonal work. Bakers/Pastry Chefs are responsible for maintaining clean and comfortable surroundings in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the accurate timing, quantity, quality, and plating of all bakery products served at meals and special events. They play a crucial leadership role, supervising and coaching support kitchen staff and dining hall personnel while performing skilled scratch-made food production. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting professionally with children, exchange students, camp staff, directors, managers, counselors, and diners.

Key responsibilities include controlling inventory, assembling orders, project management, upholding WOLFoods standards of service and quality, managing staff, client relations, and following comprehensive training programs. Bakers must use precise weights and measures to execute recipes, maintain health department sanitation standards, and ensure all bakery equipment and areas meet strict hygiene rules. This role demands initiative, judgment, teaching ability, teamwork, and leadership qualities, with the potential to act as kitchen supervisor when needed. Candidates must be able to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy weights, and working under varying temperature conditions. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years high volume commercial kitchen experience
  • minimum three professional references required with application submission

  • minimum 6-day 70-hr work week
  • ability to work under pressure in environments that are above/below average temperatures
  • must posses a servsafe allergens certification before the start of camp (company sponsored)
