Job Description
Clark County School District is one of the largest school districts in the United States, serving the educational needs of students across Southern Nevada. With a commitment to providing quality education and fostering a safe learning environment, the district operates numerous schools and facilities throughout the region, including North Las Vegas, Henderson, Overton, Moapa, Las Vegas, and Boulder City. The Superintendent's Office oversees various support services that ensure smooth operations and student welfare across the district. One vital area of service is food provision, which directly impacts student health and well-being during school hours. Ensuring that food services run efficiently and in compliance with health and safety regulations is critical to supporting daily school activities and student nutrition.
The Food Service Worker Floater position for the 2026-2027 school year plays a crucial role within this system as a dynamic support staff member. This role is based primarily at the Food Service Site Supervision location at 6350 East Tropical Parkway in North Las Vegas but requires flexibility to work across several other district locations, including Overton, Henderson, Moapa, Las Vegas, and Boulder City. This role is structured as a nine-month position with six-hour shifts daily, designed to cover various food service operations throughout these sites. As a floater, the incumbent must possess adaptability and a thorough understanding of food handling, preparation, and site maintenance responsibilities to fill in wherever needed across the districts.
This position demands compliance with the Southern Nevada Health District's food safety standards, requiring all applicants to hold a valid Food Handler Safety Training Card at the time of application and maintain this certification throughout their employment duration. Additionally, candidates must provide documented evidence of their training and experience relevant to the food service duties listed. The role does not permit advancement through promotion or lateral moves without the achievement of a high school diploma. The position also requires a valid driver’s license or state-issued identification, reflecting the occasional travel between multiple locations.
The Food Service Worker Floater performs essential tasks including food preparation, serving, cleaning, and ensuring compliance with health and sanitation standards. This role supports the district's mission by helping deliver nutritious meals to students efficiently and safely. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate reliability, organization, a willingness to work various shifts, and a commitment to upholding food safety policies. The application process emphasizes the importance of completing a thorough three-year work history, including any gaps, education, or volunteer work, enabling the district to assess the applicant’s background comprehensively. Required documents, including the Health District Food Handler Safety Training Card and valid identification, must be attached at the time of application to ensure processing.
In sum, this position is ideal for candidates who are attentive to detail, able to work in a team environment, and dedicated to contributing to a positive school experience through high standards of food service. It offers a stable employment opportunity within a large, well-established school district committed to community welfare and student success.
