With a comprehensive range of academic and enrichment programs spanning from transitional kindergarten through high school, the district cultivates an environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. Supported wholeheartedly by the community, it has successfully established itself as a nurturing and empowering place for children to learn and grow. The district's vision emphasizes that all students deserve a successful education, underscoring a focus on learning and a spirit of teamwork among staff and stakeholders.
The role being offered is a part-time position designed for a school community liaison officer who will work approximately 15 hours per week, dedicating about 3 hours each day. Reporting directly to the school's principal, this position focuses on fostering and strengthening the relationship between the school and the surrounding community. The liaison will perform a variety of vital functions such as coordinating special events and activities, publishing the school newsletter to keep stakeholders informed, organizing parent education sessions to enhance parental involvement, and facilitating connections with community service organizations. Another key aspect of this role involves managing the school’s public relations efforts, including interactions with local media to promote a positive image of the school.
In addition, the liaison officer will oversee the Instructional Technology Center extended hours program, coordinate the school’s conflict resolution strategies, facilitate the volunteer program which encourages community participation, and assist in recognizing students for their achievements. Candidates who excel in this role will be those with a strong sense of initiative, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the flexibility to manage varied responsibilities. A certain degree of creativity in developing and managing school-community relationships is also important.
The position requires working in a dynamic and collaborative school environment where enthusiasm for engaging with staff and community members is essential. The ability to speak Spanish is considered an asset, given the diverse community the district serves. Overall, this is an opportunity for individuals passionate about education and community engagement to contribute significantly to enhancing students’ educational experiences and outcomes while supporting the overall mission and vision of the school district.
