Amcor is a leading global packaging company dedicated to delivering innovative and responsible packaging solutions that benefit customers, employees, and the planet. With a workforce of over 10,000 professionals worldwide, Amcor is committed to ensuring the safety and quality of the products it helps protect, including food, medicine, and other essential goods. The company prides itself on its core values, especially safety, which guides all business decisions. By fostering an environment of engagement, development, and collaboration among employees, Amcor strives to be a high-performing team that consistently exceeds customer expectations. Amcor's leadership extends beyond business success to positively impacting the environment through sustainable practices and innovative packaging technologies. The company emphasizes its commitment to equality and inclusivity, ensuring equal opportunities for all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, disability, or any other protected status. Amcor supports employees through a comprehensive benefits package while encouraging growth and development within its global team.
The Quality Assurance (QA) role at Amcor is critical to maintaining the high standards of product excellence that the company is known for. The QA team is responsible for monitoring and verifying product quality across various operational stages, specifically within the Thermoform Molding and Printing floors. This position requires close communication with multiple shifts to relay quality issues and ensure seamless continuity in quality control processes. Responsibilities include performing detailed inspections using sophisticated tools like spectrophotometers to check color accuracy, conducting size and weight measurements, and executing specialized tests such as rigidity, haze, clarity, lid fit, and leak tests. The QA professional plays an authoritative role in stopping production lines where safety concerns arise or when product conformity is questioned, reflecting Amcor's priority on safety first.
This role also demands rigorous documentation and reporting, including the completion of daily QA reports and meticulous filing of all related paperwork. The position requires collaboration with Process Technicians and Group Leads to address any deviations or defects promptly, including issuing Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMRs) when necessary and escalating them to management if warranted. Testing with metal detectors to validate sample detection is part of the responsibilities, ensuring that every product meets stringent quality standards.
Candidates for this position must bring strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a self-motivated work ethic. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, reflecting the hands-on nature of the role. Computer proficiency and good math skills are essential for accurate calculations and report generation. Previous experience in quality assurance is preferred, though candidates without prior experience who demonstrate the necessary skills and commitment may also be considered.
Joining Amcor means becoming part of a company that fosters innovation, responsible business practices, and continuous improvement. The QA role not only contributes to the company’s reputation for quality and customer satisfaction but also plays a part in its efforts to enhance sustainability and safety in the packaging industry. Employees at Amcor enjoy a supportive work environment with access to comprehensive benefits, opportunities for career advancement, and an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity and empowers individuals to realize their potential. By working at Amcor, professionals contribute to the global mission of packaging safety and environmental responsibility, making a meaningful difference in communities worldwide.
