Job Description
Since 1869, our company has been dedicated to connecting people through food they love. We take pride in being stewards of some of the most iconic and trusted brands in the food industry. Our extensive portfolio includes well-known brands such as Campbell's, Cape Cod, Chunky, Goldfish, Kettle Brand, Lance, Late July, Pacific Foods, Pepperidge Farm, Prego, Pace, Rao's Homemade, Snack Factory, Snyder's of Hanover, Swanson, and V8. Each brand represents a legacy of quality, taste, and innovation that continues to delight consumers across the nation and beyond.
We are a leading food manufacturing company with a rich heritage and a commitment to excellence. Our mission is to deliver superior products that bring joy to families while fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and responsibility. With a dynamic work environment, we emphasize teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement to maintain our leadership in the market.
We are currently seeking a diligent and experienced Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join our plant maintenance team. This full-time position plays a critical role in ensuring that the maintenance operations within our manufacturing facility run smoothly and efficiently. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for scheduling 100% of available mechanic hours against work orders on a daily and weekly basis. This position requires meticulous planning to coordinate maintenance work with production needs, scheduling against mechanic availability, and accurately capturing all maintenance activities in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
The successful candidate will take charge of initiating work orders in SAP, ordering necessary parts, staging parts, and scheduling maintenance tasks accordingly. This role is integral to the maintenance function by developing job plans, researching and requisitioning parts, reviewing and improving Preventative Maintenance (PM) processes, and participating in Root Cause Analysis of machinery failures.
Key responsibilities include creating weekly and daily maintenance schedules after collaborating with production planning teams, negotiating downtime windows for maintenance activities, adjusting schedules to accommodate emergency or urgent work orders, and maintaining backlog files of pending work orders based on priority. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will also forecast special maintenance manpower needs for weekends, holidays, and internal projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
Furthermore, this role entails following up to verify that completed schedules and work orders are returned timely, reviewing completed work for accuracy, and preparing reports. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will provide recommendations concerning long-term maintenance needs and contribute to the ongoing development of maintenance reliability programs to improve operational efficiency.
In addition to scheduling, the position involves creating risk-based equipment criticality rankings, determining maintenance strategies such as time-directed, condition-directed, failure finding, or run-to-failure methods. Close collaboration with Maintenance Leads will ensure job estimates improve continuously, promoting better accuracy and encouraging the implementation of best practices.
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will maintain a library of standard work orders for recurring repairs, manage inventory by researching, pricing, and requisitioning parts, staging non-stocked parts when received, and collaborating with vendors and contractors to obtain necessary services and parts. Safety and energy conservation are emphasized as top priorities in planning and scheduling activities.
This role requires an individual with solid communication skills, computer literacy with strong database capabilities, and expertise in SAP/CMMS systems. Candidates should possess 5-7 years of industrial maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
We offer competitive compensation influenced by work location, experience, job-related skills, and education, along with additional forms of pay. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, dental insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, and wellness programs starting from the first day of employment.
Our company is committed to equal opportunity employment practices, valuing diversity and inclusion across all aspects of the workforce. We welcome applicants without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, marital status, protected veteran status, disability, age, religion, or any other legally protected classifications.
